Women can certainly enjoy both their professional and personal lives with support from the family and proper planning according to the Co-Founder & COO at SquareYards, Kanika Gupta Shori. Shori believes that self-belief and confidence in one’s capabilities goes a long way towards building identity and also working hard en route towards success. 

Kanika has stated that sometimes, even 24 hours in a day seems too small on particular days, being the COO at one of the foremost start-ups in proptech across the country. The company operates throughout 10 countries globally and she has to travel extensively, thus being away from the family for a sustained duration. A mother finds it tough to stay away from her children but it would not have been possible without the support Kanika received from her parents and husband. 

Kanika has also stated that the establishment of SquareYards was the major achievement in her life in circumstances that normally would not have spawned such a development. She was just grappling with raising two children and the world was not as supportive of female entrepreneurs back then, particularly the real estate sector. SquareYards, according to her, is the best thing that ever took place in her life and something to be proud of. 

Kanika has stated that women always have to prove themselves which is a continual need and work-life balancing also drains overall energy and time massively on a daily basis. Women have to handle expectations of taking on leadership positions in their families while also doing the same at work. It’s basically working two jobs full-time. The way to seamlessly manage both in the contemporary corporate scenario is basically confidence in one’s own discipline and decisions and self-belief. Kanika strives to meet a bigger goal overall and enables other smaller aspects fall in sync with this bigger vision. What is created now will be the sole thing outliving the creator is what she believes and hence entrepreneurs should gear up to build worthwhile and fulfilling legacies which will help the next generation achieve a much higher level than the present generation.
